ILL 3 Copyright

ILL 3.1 Copyright Compliance

Copyright law compliance (Subsection 108 (g)(2)) is the responsibility of the individual member libraries.  In accordance with guidelines established by CONTU (National Commission on New Technological Uses of Copyrighted Works) member libraries will keep records of photocopies requested and will not normally request interlibrary loan in excess of five (5) articles from the same title within the same calendar year.

ILL 3.2 Articles in Excess of Copyright Guidelines

When a member library chooses to request in excess of five articles from the same title within the same calendar year, the library must notify Lakeland that the request exceeds the limit of five.  Lakeland will attempt to obtain the article from a copyright clearinghouse.  The requesting library will pay the full direct cost of obtaining the article.
